Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice
Ingredients:
Part A 6 boiled eggs (peel & shell) ½ kg Pork belly (cut into ½ cm cubes)
Part B ¼ cup cooking oil 15 shallots (chop) 4 clove garlic (chop)
Part C ¼ cup light soy sauce 2 tbs dark soy sauce 2 tbs cooking wine 2 tsp rock sugar 1 star anise 2 cloves 1 cinnamon stick ¼ tsp five spice powder ½ tsp white pepper water
INSTRUCTIONS
Fry the ingredients part B - shallots and garlic in oil until golden brown on low heat, drain and discard the oil. Set aside
In a clean pot, dry fry pork belly on medium heat for 5 minutes. Then add in the fried shallots and garlic
Add in all the ingredients in C. Add in water to cover the meat. Simmer for an hour
Add in the boiled egg. Simmer for another 30 min. Add salt to taste Serve with steam rice
